Košice region updated its' film support legislation and can now offer 5% and 10% cash rebate on eligible costs. As this support scheme is compatible with the national AVF scheme, the producers can apply for a cash rebate up to 43%.
The Košice Region Film Office is introducing a new initiative aimed at systematically building and connecting the regional film community. Filmmaking Evenings will bring regular meetings for film professionals, creators, students, and workers in the audiovisual sector.
Financial support of up to 25,000 euros can be obtained by producers of audiovisual works who plan their production in the Košice region. The call is open until November 28, 2025.

On January 27, 2024, the long-awaited, unique, and magnificent premiere of the film “Cop War” took place in Košice. Unusually, the film could be enjoyed not only by more than 40 actors and creators but also by almost 4000 spectators at the Košice Steel Arena. The premiere of this film attracted not only viewers but also the attention of film critics, confirming the interest in Slovak cinema and its ability to reflect relevant themes.
